A small group tour in our comfortable minivan is like travelling with a group of friends, but without the hassle of having to organise it yourself – we take care of everything! Our tours are real value for money – we include all your land transportation, accommodation, more meals, more fun, and local tour leaders who will travel with you as another friend in the group. We don’t charge a single supplement, and we don’t have any hidden extras.

Transportation
Our comfortable 10-seater minivan allows us to explore Italy as the Italians do – not just the mainstream tourist trails, but also the roads less travelled. The freedom of having our own transport enables us to make the most of those unique and sometimes unexpected opportunities that we often encounter along the way. We are flexible with our itineraries on the road – we can stop for a sunset or a festival, while moving smoothly past unexpected glitches like transport strikes and bad weather!

Accommodation
No impersonal big chain hotels here! Trek Italia groups stay in strategically located agritourism farmhouses that enable us to access all sites of interest in the area, without joining the herd in the big cities. Our agritourism accommodation has bathrooms, communal relaxation areas, gardens, usually a kitchen, terraces and a swimming pool, not to mention picture-postcard views over the Italian countryside. We use twin, triple or quadruple rooms as necessary, and single travellers are paired with other travellers of the same sex.
Agritourism farmhouses offer lots of optional activities – walking, cycling, fishing, horse-riding, bocce, cooking courses, wine tasting – and usually make their own wine, oil, cheese, or other organic produce.

We may sometimes use small family-run guesthouses or hotels in certain destinations, if we feel that this enables us to improve our choice of location for an itinerary. Again, we use twin, triple or quadruple rooms as necessary.

Meals
Trek Italia tours include more meals than other tours that cost more – we include all breakfasts, most light lunches and most dinners. (Please read the trip notes for your specific itinerary to see exactly which daily meals are included and on what basis).
But we don’t compromise on quality or variety - on the contrary, we are passionate about our food.
Dinners during the tour are usually prepared by the group members on a rotation basis, strictly Italian cooking, using our authentic family recipes and fresh, genuine ingredients provided for you - you can go grocery shopping with your group leader if you are interested in learning more about real Italian food.
Trek Italia will also invite you to some of our favourite local eating places during your trip. We usually have a free evening during the tour, so you can choose to eat out, or relax and cook in the farmhouse.

Fun
Italian culture is world-famous for its art, architecture, history and fabulous food. But an equally important element of Italian culture is the love of life, socializing, and generally having fun whenever possible. We will show you a complete view of the culture, with particular attention to the fun stuff! That includes alternative activities, flexible itineraries, socializing and nightlife.
